Classic GWOT M4A1 Rifle

If you like the United States military, you know this rifle on sight. The M4A1 with an ACOG on top, a laser-light up front, a foregrip under the rail and that tall front sight post was what American troops carried through Afghanistan and Iraq. This one comes with the whole classic setup built right in, so you can hand it straight to a fig and send them out on patrol.
Resin printed, so handle with care
This M4A1 is resin printed, not injection molded like most brick parts. That's how it gets such sharp, tiny details like the rail slots and the sight post. The trade is that resin is softer and more fragile than regular plastic.
Go easy when you press it into a fig's hand, and don't bend or force the thin parts like the barrel, front sight and stock. Treat it like a model kit and it'll look great for years.
The story behind the M4A1
- A shorter M16. The U.S. military adopted the M4 carbine in 1994, a shorter, handier version of the M16 that worked better in vehicles, helicopters and tight streets. The M4A1 is the version that fires full auto.
- Special forces got it first. The M4A1 started out with special operations units. By the mid-2010s the Army was converting its regular M4s to the M4A1 standard too.
- The kit that changed the look. In the 1990s, special operations put together an upgrade package called SOPMOD. It added a rail system around the barrel so troops could bolt on an optic, an infrared laser, a light and a foregrip. That loadout became the face of the era.
- The ACOG. Short for Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight, it's a 4x scope that lights its aiming point with tritium and fiber optics, so it never needs batteries. Soldiers and Marines carried them by the thousands.
- That front sight post. The tall triangle sight near the muzzle was carried over from the M16, and it's the giveaway of a GWOT-era rifle. Newer rifles mostly swapped it for flip-up sights, which is why this one looks so classic.
Why builders like it
- The standard issue look. It's what the regular rifleman carried, so it's the right pick for filling out a squad, a platoon or a whole company.
- Ready out of the bag. Everything is built on, so there's nothing to attach or lose. Hand it over and your fig is good to go.
- Fits almost any modern fig. Army, Marines, special forces or a private contractor in a vest and jeans. The photos show it on three very different figs and it looks right on every one.
- Easier on the wallet. At this price you can arm your whole army without thinking twice about it.
