Safety & Item Care

Not a toy — choking hazard

Fabled Figs products are detailed collectibles for display, not toys. They contain small and detachable parts and are not suitable for children under 16. Keep them away from young children and pets, who can choke on small pieces. Some items also contain batteries (see below).

Your figs are made to be displayed and enjoyed for years. This guide covers how to keep them (and the people and pets around you) safe, plus the best ways to clean, store, and care for your collection so it stays looking sharp.

1 Age & choking hazard

Our minifigures, brick figures, and accessories contain small and detachable parts. They are intended for collectors and are not designed or tested as toys.

  • Not suitable for children under 16. Small parts can be a choking hazard for young children.
  • Always keep figures, loose pieces, and packaging out of the reach of infants and young children.
  • Adult assembly and supervision are recommended whenever a minor handles these items.

2 Light-up items & batteries

Some products — such as light-up stands or display bases — are powered by batteries, which may include small button or coin cell batteries.

⚠️ Button/coin cell batteries are extremely dangerous if swallowed. Ingestion can cause severe internal injury or death. Keep batteries and battery-powered items away from children and pets, and seek immediate medical attention if you suspect a battery has been swallowed.

  • Keep the battery compartment closed and secured; if it doesn't stay shut, stop using the item and keep it away from children.
  • Do not puncture, crush, heat, short-circuit, or attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • Replace batteries with the same type and size, observing the correct (+/–) orientation, and remove batteries before long-term storage.
  • Dispose of used batteries responsibly in line with your local regulations.

3 Sharp-ish parts & handling

Like other building-brick minifigures and accessories, some pieces — such as weapons, antennas, capes clips, or finely detailed parts — can have points or thin edges. They aren't metal, but they can still poke.

  • Handle pointed accessories with care and keep them away from eyes and faces.
  • Press pieces together on a flat surface rather than against your skin.
  • If a piece ever feels cracked or unexpectedly sharp, stop using it and reach out to us (see Section 8).

4 Pets & general safety

  • Small parts and batteries are hazards to pets too — keep figures and loose pieces out of their reach.
  • Our products and their printed surfaces are not food-safe. Do not chew, suck, or place pieces in your mouth.
  • Use and display your items as intended. We are not responsible for injury or damage resulting from misuse or use inconsistent with this guide (see our Terms & Conditions).

5 Cleaning & dusting

Routine dusting keeps your figs looking sharp, and the occasional gentle hand-wash handles anything dust can't.

For dusting, reach for soft, dry tools:

  • A soft makeup brush — a clean, dry makeup or powder brush lifts dust off faces, torsos, and detailed surfaces without scratching.
  • A microfiber cloth — perfect for wiping flat surfaces and larger pieces.
  • A soft, unused toothbrush — gets into tight crannies and between studs. Use a soft brush and a light touch, as stiff bristles can scratch the plastic.
  • Compressed air — clears dust from deep or hard-to-reach spots. Use short bursts and remove loose, fragile, or minifigure parts first so nothing gets blasted off or lost.

For a deeper clean, wash by hand:

  • Use water no hotter than 104°F (40°C) with a soft cloth or sponge. Hotter water can warp the bricks and ruin them.
  • You can add a little mild detergent, then rinse well with clean water and let parts air-dry completely before reassembling.
  • Electronic, battery-powered, or metal-containing parts: never submerge these — wipe them only with a cloth lightly dampened with water and a mild, perfume- and oil-free detergent.
  • Custom-printed parts: don't soak them or scrub the print; spot-clean gently around it. Avoid alcohol, acetone, bleach, abrasive cleaners, and "magic eraser"-type sponges, which can strip printing.

A word of warning: never put your figs in the washing machine or dishwasher, and never dry them in the oven, microwave, or with a hair dryer. Don't leave them to dry in direct sun either. When bricks get too hot they can change shape and stop fitting together.

6 Light, heat & storage

  • Don't bake them in direct sun. A bit of natural light or a quick session of outdoor play is totally fine, but long stretches of strong sun can fade prints and yellow plastic over time.
  • Skip extreme heat. Keep your figs away from radiators, vents, and hot car dashboards. Real heat can warp plastic and loosen prints.
  • Store somewhere cool and dry. Spots away from heavy humidity and big temperature swings keep them happiest.
  • A glass or acrylic display case is the easiest way to keep dust off and UV at bay, and helps a collection stay sharp for the long haul.

7 Caring for printed & custom parts

Many of our figures feature custom printing on compatible (third-party) parts. The printing is durable, but it's still ink on plastic and benefits from a gentle touch.

  • Handle figures by the body rather than rubbing over printed faces or torsos.
  • Avoid friction against printed areas — repeated rubbing, sticky tape, or stacking heavy items on prints can wear them over time.
  • When swapping parts, pull gently and evenly to avoid stressing printed pieces.

8 Damaged or defective items

If an item arrives broken, cracked, unexpectedly sharp, or with a battery or light-up fault, please stop using it and reach out. We'll make it right, see our Refund & Return Policy to start a request.
